Balochistan Nutrition Program for Mothers & Children, Government of Balochistan
The Government of Balochistan Health Department is implemeneting the “Balochistan Nutrition Project for Mothers and Children” supported by World Bank led by “Multi Donor Trust Fund” for improving the nutrition services in the province. The interventions under this project will be implemented in seven districts namely Kharan, Panjgur, Noshki, Kohlu, Sibi, Zhob and Killa Saifullah both at the community level and health facility level.
Components of BNPMC
- Addressing general malnutrition among children (<5), Pregnant and Lactating Women.
- Addressing Micronutrient Malnutrition.
- Behavior Change Communication.
- Strengthen Institutional arrangement and capacity.
- Strengthening Monitoring and Evaluation System.
The overall objectives of the Provincial Nutriton Directorate (PND) is to improve the nutritional status of children under five years and that of pregnant and lactating women by improving the coverage of effective nutrition interventions with a priority focus on malnourished amongst the poor and other disadvantaged, including women ,nutritionally vulnerable groups, ethnic and religious minorities, and socially marginalized occupational and settler groups in seven (07) districts namely; Panjgoor, Nushki, Zhob, Killa Saifullah, Kohlu, Sibi and Kharan of Balochistan province.
