Joint review meeting of Community based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) held under the BNPMC and Nutrition Cell.
Secretary Health Mr. Javed Anwer Shahwani has said that Balochistan Nutrition Program in the province working for the improvised activities of the Nutrition and other correlated activities in a vibrant manner. In the promotion the role of international organizations i.e. UNIEF, WHO, WFP, World Bank, Australian Aid, etc. cannot be denied and Government of Balochistan will always appreciate their expendable role in the development of the province in various sectors.
He was expressing these views while chairing the Joint review meeting of Community based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM). In the meeting Nutrition Program provincial head Dr. Ali Nasir Bugti, Deputy Director Nutrition Cell Balochistan Dr. Abid Panizai, Technical Expert BNPMC Dr. Faisal Shahwani, Deputy Program Manager Dr.Sadiq Baloch, Dr Ghulam Mustufa, WHO representative Dr. Asfand Yar Sherani, WFP provincial Head Dr. Aftab Bhatti, UNICEF Health Specialist Dr. Amir Akram, Deputy Director Directorate of Health Dr. Hayat Roonjha, District Nutrition Officers of all respective districts and other officials participated in a large number.
Provincial Head Nutrition Program Dr. Ali Nasir Bugti briefed the participants about the overall activities of the program he endorsed the financial, technical, and other support being provided by the development partners. He said acute malnutrition is an alarming issue in the restive province that to be bring it in to the ebb be achieved on jointly and collaboratively. He said, for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) targets provincial government along with other stakeholders are doing their best to achieve desirable results.
In the event development partners stakeholders have accredited their full support to the government in-line departments. They appreciated the efforts being made by BNPMC and Provincial Nutrition Cell in addressing the drastic issue of Malnutrition, Pregnant and Lactating women and other correlated activities.
