Three-days capacity building training on Supportive Monitoring for Lady Health Supervisors of National Program for Lady Health Workers Program and District Nutrition Focal Persons of PPHI-B from 19- 21st March 2018 in NIMS Quetta, organized by BNPMC:
Deputy Program Manager (M&E), Deputy Program (Technical) Dr. Sabina Baloch Balochistan Nutrition Program for Mothers and Children (BNPMC) Dr. Sadiq Baloch briefed and highlighted the training objectives in a three days Training of Lady Health Supervisors, National Program for FP & PCH and District Nutrition Focal Persons, PPHI on Supportive Monitoring and was organized by the Balochistan Nutrition Program for Mothers and Children (BNPMC) from March 19th to March 21st, 2018 in National Institute of Management Sciences (NIMS), Quetta. They said, training rises the capacity and enhances clear understanding about effective implementation of project interventions for minimizing the risks of acute malnutrition. In addition, training enhances the skills and capacity of participants on the management of malnutrition and Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM). Training also improves the knowledge of participants on supportive monitoring of program activities at filed level. And, training enriches the expertise of staff on Monitoring & Evaluation tools, MIS tools, implementation of GRM and Management of Supplies. They urged to the participants to get knowledge and not implemented into the field will not justify fruitful results, so it is the social and professional responsibility that the participants must act apparently and proactively to get desired results in combating this major problem of malnutrition.
In the event multi-dimensional experiences being shared to the participants resource persons that gave training to the said event included LMO Nutrition Cell Dr. Rubina Mir, Deputy Director Nutrition Cell Dr. Abid Paniazi, Program Technical Expert (BNPMC) Dr. Faisal Shahwani, Monitoring and Evaluation Expert (BNPMC) Mr. Hameed Ullah Khan, NGO Coordinator Mr. Shah Mohammad, BCC Expert Farzana, Information Management Officer Mr. Syed Kazim Agha, Field Monitor Officer National program for Family Planning and Primary Health care Dr. Javed Baloch.
In the training a mixed methodology was followed, comprising of brainstorming, interactive discussions, experience sharing, role playing, sharing of case studies, group work and group & individual presentations by the participants. All the sessions were made interactive to ensure the interest and active participation of the participants. The purpose of this training was to enhance and strengthened the skills and capabilities of project staff for effective implementation of planed project activities in project focused districts to facilitate the maximum beneficiaries of respective areas. The workshop was facilitated by resource persons from Balochistan Nutrition Program for Mothers and Children (BNPMC) and Nutrition Cell, Health Department. A comprehensive set of source materials, including hard and soft copies were made available and distributed to participants. The training was attended by 21 participants from District Panjgoor and Kharan. The training remained very productive and participatory involving all participants in group work activities and presentations to develop confidence building among the participants.
